"The wine of lovers" - dedicated to Maria Zwack, the great love and muse of Endre Ady. The Babylonian goddess Mylitta, the Greek equivalent of Aphrodite. She was the guardian of virgins and the protector of fertility. Mylitta recalls Endre Ady's poems, where she was the inspiration and muse for several works from the 1910s onwards. Mylitta was not a fictional character, but a real lady, whose civil name was Mária Zwack, a.k.a. Mitzi auntie. As love changes, so does Mylitta, there is no real recipe. Its varietal composition is different in every vintage, one year pure Furmint, another year even pure Sárgamuskotály, and most of the time a marriage of the 3 biggest Tokaj grape varieties. What is constant is that we choose the best thinned bunches. After berrying and 24 hours of maceration, we gently press, ferment and age in 300 l oak barrels for 10-12 months. The rich fruitiness of Mylitta is also used as the base wine for our 6-puttonyos aszú. Its sugar content of around 120g/l and the harmony of fresh and candied fruit make it a true life-giving sweet wine.

Characteristics
Its dry wines boast high acidity, great complexity, excellent structure and characteristic aromatics. They may be steely yet elegant in cooler vintages. Dry wines produced from ripe, but not overripe, grapes, harvested at full maturity, without any botrytised berries, can command high prices and have decades of ageing potential. They can be made from any of the permitted Tokaj varieties, but Furmint or Hárslevelű are the most common, followed by Sárgamuskotály.Sweet wines can deliver a wonderful sensory experience, depending on the sugar and dry extract content.Late-harvested sweet wines can be made good quality in the right vintages, but they are usually made from grapes which are either not botrytised or just have a touch of botrytis. Botrytis also concentrates the sugar and acidity in the grapes, so Tokaj sweet wines are well-balanced and lively and retain their fruitiness for a long time. Tokaj’s sweet wines are not dessert wines but rather balanced, often terroir wines, which happen to contain residual sugar.
