Our garden, its soil and its atmosphere give rise to our wines. Neither the intervention in nature, nor in the development in the wine cellar determine the character, rather the renunciation underlines the diversity of the soils, which we can find again in the wine. Not creating, not making, not creating wines, but letting them develop and become - the direction the wine takes should be up to it.
There are differences between the individual vintages, the individual varieties and soils; and many small, inconspicuous differences that reveal themselves in a very subtle way. If the grape is allowed to develop naturally, this is also reflected in the wine. Any methods used to manipulate them lead to adulteration, turning the cultural asset of wine into a consumer product that can be uniformly and commercially imitated and replaced at any time. We attach great importance to being personally involved in every step of the winemaking process, carrying out the work ourselves so that we can follow each process carefully. In the course of our history, we have grown and now work on vineyards spread across the entire Mittelburgenland region, whether Neckenmarkt, Horitschon, Unterpetersdorf or Raiding.
Every village and every soil has its own profile, completely independent and autochthonous. Our declared task is to work out this diversity in order to recognize the differences between the individual origins. That is why we do it ourselves and do not buy in any grapes or wine. Only grapes that are cultivated by us may be pressed into Wellanschitz wines - we guarantee this.
