Our winery is located in Ostoros, which is 4 km southeast from Eger. It was founded in 1993 by our father Böjt László, together with our mother, Éva. Our family was awarded 3 hectares of so-called compensation land, to which they bought a little cellar carved into the volcanic tuff rock, something that in the old days functioned both as a cellar and a home. This is how it all started. Today the Böjt Winery has grown to 12 hectares, located on the slopes of Kutyahegy and Bikus vineyards, unfurling around the town of Ostoros. Our biggest territorially cohesive vineyard is Kutyahegy, and has earned our special attention. We believe, that the beauty of the vineyard and the soil here still hold many unexplored opportunities for us. We are working with quite a few grape varieties: Welschriesling, Leányka, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat, Kékfrankos, Cabernet Sauvignon, Blauburger, Turán, Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Merlot.
Since 2016 the winery has been led by us, Böjt Gergő and Böjt Boglárka. Gergő, with his degree in Viticulture and Oenology, and drawing from his experience abroad, manages all aspects of the winery. With his great exactitude he strives for the highest standards of winemaking. The whole family continues to play an active role in the life of the winery, and guiding its path. Our lifelong goal is to constantly evolve, to enable us to tackle new challenges, be it from the changing growing conditions or market trends. We believe this can only be achieved through continuous learning and improving the technological side of the winery, so that we can share even more of what we have come to experience and love here in Ostoros.
