After a childhood surrounded by grapes and wine, in 2012 Daniel realized that his future was in winemaking. As the opportunities came, the estate slowly grew, and he devoted more and more time to winemaking and viticulture.
He does consider biological diversity and the protection of our environment are key for the sustainability of future farming.
Daniel's aim is to make elegant and dynamic wines with a modern approach, high content, keeping pace with world winemaking, especially in terms of purity and freshness.
Korózs Wine Estate it’s a fully family owned winery in the Eger wine region.
They harvest from 7 hectares, but they are growing and soon another 2.65 hectares will turn to fruit which is 100% organic vineyard - certified by Biokontroll Hungária since 2021.
The vineyards are located in 2 different terroir, 5.6 ha at Zongoras vineyard, which is based in volcanic origin soil and in the region’s primary cru, the Nagy-Eged hill based on limestone with chalky soil. At Nagy-Eged they have 1 ha old plantation of Kékfrankos (altitude 285-310m) and 2.65 ha new plantation Kadarka, Kekfrankos, Cabernet Franc, Syrah (altitude 340-380m).
During winemaking they use barrel, egg tanks and stainless-steel tank fermentation with wild and natural yeast also.
The barrel ageing is always gentle thanks to the good choice of barrel quality, which are mainly French with 300 – 500 litres capacity: this composition ensures the unique modern characteristic and the consequent high quality.
They believe, the quality of the grape predestinate the quality of the wine, but without perfectionism, clear and professional winemaking good grapes can be wasted.
