This variety of French origin was made famous in Hungary by our wine region by the name of “grey friar”. The wine of the monks of old times is of great quality every year. It is characterized by low harvest quantity, high sugar content and great body with a high extract. This wine comes from the Tarjányi hillside, which is one of the best of the Saint George Mountain. Its mineral taste attributes and pleasant rotundity come from the volcanic soil and made whole by the barrel ripening and batonnage. To preserve its fine aromas it was bottled without filtering.
